Associate Professor : Animal Biology and Parasitology – Host-Pathogen Interactions, Bordeaux, France
Teaching Profile
The candidate will teach in animal biology, especially in metazoan diversity, phylogeny, and comparative anatomy in Bachelor Sciences de la vie (Years 1, 2 and 3).
Research Profile
The selected candidate will join the Laboratory of Microbiologie Fondamentale et Pathogénicité (UMR 5234). Their research project will focus on parasites from the phylum Apicomplexa, pathogens affecting both humans and animals, with a preference for Toxoplasma gondii.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Biology or equivalent, specializing in the biology and/or ecology of animal organisms
- Expertise in evolutionary mechanisms in animal biology and eukaryotic microbiology, particularly parasitology
- Skills in cell biology (including confocal or super-resolution optical microscopy) and molecular genetics tools such as CRISPR-Cas9
- One or more successful postdoctoral experiences
