ParaFrap organizes a biennal international conference, which is today among the reference meeting in Parasitology .
Many international leading scientists joined the first meeting “From basic research to intervention strategies against parasites” (September 2014, 140 participants, Ile des Embiez-Var, France), and their very positive feedback to repeat this type of conference in France clearly enhanced ParaFrap’s international standing
The second conference (October 2016, 170 participants, Ile des Embiez) has attracted participants from Australia, USA, Canada, Israel and many European countries. We have obtained sponsoring support to invite young group leaders from disease endemic countries to our conference.
In Octobre 2018, 200 scientists from all continents participated in the EMBO Workshop "Molecular advances and parasite strategies in host infection", organized on the Ile des Embiez, by ParaFrap.
Due to the CoVID-19-related restrictions, the 2020 conference has been postponed to October 2-5, 2022. This EMBO Workshop event, entitled "New frontiers in hostparasite interactions, from cell to organism", brought together over 200 participants on the Ile des Embiez.
A new meeting is scheduled for October 2025.
